GREENPEACE TESCO DESTROYS FORESTS CASE STUDY
Following our Act For Amazon campaign with Greenpeace, we launched a follow up campaign during the forest fire season to raise further awareness of Tesco’s contribution to deforestation.
THE CHALLENGE
To raise further awareness of the Tesco’s meat production (particularly chicken and pork), which is causing the Amazon and other forests to be destroyed due to forest fires.
THE OBJECTIVE
To generate outrage and inspire action for people to call out Tesco on social media, sign the petition and also download a Tesco Action Pack which they can take offline and in store.
THE CAMPAIGN
We worked with 6 UK activists to share the message through TikTok Videos, IG Reels, IG Posts and Instagram stories, with tracked UTM links to both the petition and the action pack.
THE RESULTS
A 77% uptake in petition signatures!
The influencers raised awareness of the damage Tesco’s meat production is causing throughout a variety of different creative content angles.
The campaign generated an impressive reach of 328,446 and very strong engagements of 47,357 actions across the 6 influencers’ content. With an very high average engagement rate of 10.52%, there was a total of 3,500 click-throughs to the Greenpeace website suggesting the interest of signing the petition and 976 saves on the Influencer’s posts suggesting they want to revisit the post at a later date.
Comments sparked outrage - with many users tagging Tesco and demanding answers from the Supermarket. Many others shared that they were going to be taking action themselves.
