GREENPEACE OUR PLASTIC OUR PROBLEM CASE STUDY

Our second partnership with Greenpeace focused on the plastic problem in the UK.

THE CHALLENGE

To raise awareness that only 10% of plastic is being recycled in the UK and to hold the government accountable.

THE OBJECTIVE

To generate outrage whilst getting the plastic crisis on people’s radar and inspire action for people to share content, start conversations and encourage petition sign-ups on the Greenpeace website to stop UK plastic recycling being exported to other countries and hurting people and wildlife.

THE CAMPAIGN

We worked with 5 UK influencers and activists to share the #OurPlasticOurProblem message through TikTok Videos, IG Reels, IG Posts and Instagram stories, with tracked UTM links to the petition.

 

THE RESULTS

990+ uptake in petition signatures!

The influencers raised awareness of the plastic crisis and exportation of plastic waste to Global South countries affecting the health of local population and putting pressure to encourage changes to be made by the government.

The campaign generated a total reach of 80,084 and strong engagements of 10,222 actions across the 5 influencers’ content. With a high average engagement rate of 5.73%, there was 1,428+ shares and saves suggesting the interest of sharing/signing the petition and wanting to revisit the post at a later date.

Comments sparked outrage and education - with many users sharing other countries’ actions and signing the petition to encourage the UK government to take action.
