ABOUT SIMONE (she/her)
Simone Yasmin is an intersectional anti-racism educator. Simone weaves education into her poetry and art and likes to be known as an 'artivist' rather than an 'activist'.
Simone creates a space on the internet to educate, inform and address important conversations on her platform based around anti-racism, uplifting marginalised communities and advocating for LGBTQ+ rights.
Since Simone started her activism journey on Instagram, she has amassed a loyal audience which has created opportunities for her to speak in public spaces and has been commissioned to work with companies such as Greenpeace, Leeds Libraries, Girl Gang Leeds and University of York.
Simone recently featured on a 'Dope Black Women' podcast episode with BBC Radio 4's Olivia Cope and has also had her work featured in a poetry book titled 'Words By' which was published by UNICEF whereby all proceeds of the book went to the UNICEF Children's Emergency Fund.
Outside of her activism work, Simone loves to share her favourite hair care, skin and beauty products with her followers. She also has a keen interest and passion for sustainability and has recently worked with Greenpeace on one of their latest anti-plastic campaigns.
